The Story

A time capsule, a love letter to the past—this hand-painted vase is an intimate mosaic of memory, identity, and transformation. The Virgin Mary, serene and ever-watchful, stands as a quiet echo of a Catholic upbringing, a tether to faith and family. Nearby, a well-loved Glo Worm, its plastic skin worn soft by childhood hands, hums with the warmth of nostalgia. But innocence fades—adolescence arrives, uncertain and unkind, reflected in the delicate retelling of The Ugly Duckling, a story that once soothed yet now reveals deeper truths. A vintage Valentine’s card lingers, sweet yet hollow, its sentiment mirrored in a 90s Windows error message—unrequited love, a glitch in the heart’s coding. And then, a Filipino 10-cent stamp, a quiet tribute to heritage, migration, and the stories carried across generations. This vase is no mere object—it is a relic of growing up, of belonging and longing, a beautifully fractured self-portrait in sculptural form.
