The Story
A sculpture of contradiction and devotion, this hand-built candelabra transforms recycled paper pulp into a vessel of memory, culture, and play. Each branch curves with intention, supporting candles as it supports imagery drawn from the tapestry of a 90s childhood and beyond. Miss Piggy grins with unapologetic charm, vintage cartoons wink from the surface, and Cupid hovers like a mischievous guide. Anchoring it all, the Sacred Heart of Jesus speaks to faith and ritual, a quiet counterpoint to the humour and spectacle surrounding it. Gothic tattoo script frames the piece with dualities: Chaos on one side, Faith on the other, a reminder that life is never singular, never simple.
The candelabra is tactile, narrative, and entirely unique - a dialogue between devotion and rebellion, nostalgia and critique. Hand-painted details invite close inspection, revealing the humour, devotion, and contradictions embedded in memory, culture, and personal history. A statement for any table or mantle, it illuminates not just a room, but the complex interplay of childhood, belief, and identity, offering both warmth and reflection in its sculptural form.
