The Story
A vessel of contradictions, the Bambino Bowl is at once tender and defiant, a hand-built sculpture born from used coffee cups, paper bowls, and torn grocery bags - fragments of daily life transformed into art. On its exterior, childhood lingers like a sweet perfume: Bambi pauses mid-step, two angels soar above, and a decorative Sacred Heart of Jesus anchors the piece in faith and memory. A scratch-and-sniff sticker flirts with nostalgia, while No Fear, inscribed in gothic tattoo script, reminds us that innocence and bravado often coexist. The outside is a delicate mosaic of tenderness, faith, and the playful iconography of a childhood shaped by stories, cartoons, and rites of belonging.
Step closer, and the interior tells a different story. A roll of hundred-dollar bills, taut and gleaming, rests beside a rolled joint, hints of risk and indulgence mingling with possibility. Here, the bowl becomes a quiet confession: the hidden desires, the small rebellions, the adult vices that slip past the world’s gaze. The contrast is deliberate, a narrative of duality where sweetness meets defiance, devotion meets desire, and nostalgia folds into contemporary reality.
The Bambino Bowl is more than a sculptural object - it is a story made tangible. Each curve, each torn paper edge, each hand-painted icon speaks of transformation, of memory reshaped, and of the tension between what we show and what we keep tucked away. As a centrepiece, it invites curiosity, conversation, and reflection - a reminder that beauty often resides in contradiction, and that every childhood carries the seeds of its own complexity.
